After reading about the health benefits in an NYT article, I went looking for the most unadulterated product, and this is it. I read all the reviews, so I knew the texture was quirky and didn't expect a snack comparable to dried blueberries. They taste like a lemony blueberry; they are not bitter. Since they are hard and dry, I soak them in almond milk before adding to pancakes or blend them dry before adding smoothie ingredients. They are easy to incorporate into your regular diet, and well worth the effort.

These dried currants have a light crunchy texture and an intense flavor. Highly recommended.
Love Black Currants

I rate the freeze dried black currants as 4 stars only because I reserve 5 stars for fresh currants. I re-hydrate these currants in a bit of water for 30 mins or so and they are great in all of my recipes. I highly recommend them for anyone who wants currants for their health and flavor. Pricey but excellent!
Interesting texture and taste

Not sure what to think as these are crunchy, but very tart, bordering on bitter. There just doesn't seem to be much here to chew and the flavor is intense for a very brief period before going away. My wife and kids were not fans of the quick dried currants, but were all fans of the regular dried version. I will have to try them mixed with other foods and see how I like them, but the regular dried ones are definitely good.
Tasty and Tart

I tasted real currants for the first time when I ordered them from CurrantC. I have not been disappointed. I originally ordered them because of their place in my healthy eating program but have come to enjoy them just as much because of the tart berry flavor. Not living in the far north, I am limited to the dried or freeze dried versions of the berry so I will look forward to the time when I can taste them fresh. I recommend these currants to anyone who is looking for a very healthy way to add a wonderful tart flavor to cereals, baked goods and any other use where you want to add a zing to your recipe.

I love these! It depends on what you need it for, but they feel almost like freeze dried. Very tarty, and intense. I love them.
Crispy and chewy at the same time

I bought these because of a problem on their website, and the product ended up in my bag, and I couldn't remove them. I figured I would give it a try, along with the dried currants. I prefer the dried currants. The quick-dried currants are more sour, and they have a crunchy skin, a lot of air, and the skin turns chewy in your mouth and can get stuck in your teeth. I am bothered by the crunchy+chewy mouthfeel. I wish they were either crunchy or chewy. I should try them in my oatmeal, where the mouthfeel won't be such an issue. I offered some to a coworker who was intrigued. He declined seconds.
Crunchy but low in flavor

Interesting technology - freeze drying - but shouldn't be used on the currents. Crunchy but low in flavor compared to the dried w/no sugar form.
not what i thought i was getting

It wasn't clear in the reduction description that these were freeze dried. Now I'm not sure what to do with them as I wanted dried currants for a salad. Perhaps description should be updated from "quick dried" to freeze dried.

I received my supply of black currants and had some on my cereal and they were delicious! I look forward to this new addition to my nutritional diet. I am sure I will be ordering more in the future.
