Excellent quality and flavor

I never tasted a black currant before, so I had no idea what to expect. These currants are slightly tart and slightly sweet. A great combination to keep me munching on them. My only issue is that they are not local, so I have to have them shipped to FL from NY. Wish I could just shop the physical store and not have to deal with shipping.

Having started eating black currents as a preventative measure for glaucoma, which runs in my family unfortunately. CurrentC delivers excellent quality to me. They're a little bit tart, which I anticipated, but I'm enjoying the handful I eat each day.
The real deal

It is difficult here in the states to obtain genuine black currants. Often other currants are substituted. This product is as advertised.

Very good currants, surprisingly moist whilst dried with good flavor. Highly recomended. Cant wait to use in baking, cereals and trail mix.
I'm happy again!!!

I'm very happy to have the dried currants back (as opposed to the flash freeze-dried, which I didn't care for). And thanks for the explanation as to why currants can't be dried all on their own. I'm glad to be able to eat these again!
Great for sweets and savories.

These little flavorful currants are delightfully tart and lend themselves to baking sweets, such as scones or in flavorful pilafs. Toss a few into a lamb or chicken stew. It gives an unexpected dimension to your dish. Turns something ordinary into exotic. And for me, I’m so impressed they are grown within twenty miles of my home in the Hudson Valley!

yes, it is real black currants, as in my childhood. To me they are too dry, as stones.

These blackcurrants are the real thing...something that I haven’t tasted (except in blackcurrant jam and bottles of Ribena) since I left England. I am so glad to have found them. These were especially flavorful and were absolutely perfect in my scones. They also shipped quickly. Thank you for a great product!
Exactly what we were looking for!

My son loves dried blackcurrants...but they are hard to find in an edible state (most are freeze dried to crunchy little rocks). My only negative is the cost...with shipping they cost over $30 a pound! I used to be able to buy them at Trader Joe's for a fraction of that, but they were discontinued. So now they will be an occasional treat only but I'm really glad to have found this source for them.
Dried currants are great for baking, hot breakfast cereal

I did not grow up enjoying black currants (R. nigrum) but certainly have come to relish their taste. I use dried black currants in baked goods, such as muffins and scones, and I enjoy them in my hot breakfast cereal. CurrantC dried black currants retain their flavor, color, and quality well even if it takes me a while to use a 1-pound bag. When it's near his birthday or Christmas, I buy an extra pound for a good friend who spent his childhood in England.
